About Us
Mindy
Junior assitant Mindy (pictured below) has recently been neglecting her duties (snoozing behind the counter, greeting regular customers, startling new ones with her jack-in-the-box impression...the list goes on and on) to cool off in nearby watercourses. Perfect on a hot day!
Brian and Tina moved to Pitlochry in 2007 to open Viva. They are both from the Perhshire area of Scotland and had decided to give up careers in industry to return to Perthshire to work for themselves - the result was their shop Viva in Bonnethill Road.
In 2009 the opportunity arose to move to bigger and more centrally located premises which would give them the opportunity to open an art gallery as well. The move took place in December 2009.
They are keen to provide a friendly, local shop offering a good range of materials for artists and crafts people, and are constantly sourcing new items as they become aware of local requirements or trends in the crafting world. They have experience of using most of the products stocked and are therefore able to offer advice or even quick demonstrations to assist purchasers.
With their gallery the intention is to exhibit works by Highland Perthshire artists. There is not just art but also ceramics, wood, jewellery - in fact any pieces which display the skills and range of the local artist community.
